Not sure if a 6th grader is allowed to wrestle with 7th or 8th (this is a very common practice,and I myself was guilty of it with both my boys) but I can ASSURE you, a 6th grader cannot roll with 9-12 in PA. At least not at an official school practice. I know a certain Saegertown coach who almost lost his job over this. Welcome to 6th Grade World Geography. In this class we will be studying the geography of the world. We will be studying geographic features, maps, culture, history, economics and politics of the western hemisphere and how each of these impacts others around the world. Blog- Each week you will need to look at the class blog to see your assignment. Please 'follow' the class blog so that your teacher can view your progress.

In week 6, you are asked to create a concept map. Please be creative with your map. When you finish the concept map please export, it as a Microsoft Word file with both the map and outline. You will use this outline to write your essay. Examples of both the concept map and Word file have been provided to help you.

For week 7, you are asked to write your essay and complete your works cited page. The following links may be useful. Please type you citations in MLA format.

For Week 9 we will create graphs in Excel. These may be on any data you find for your country. We will learn how to create these graphs in lab this week. For your help two graphs have been posted here as well a link to the Excel file so that you can see how they were created.

The final part of your country report is to create a PowerPoint and present to your classmates and parents. Before you create your own presentation, you should view the following file to learn how to use the program. This will also be presented in lab.
